Frequently Asked Dental Questions Goodyear

Stay Informed on Your Upcoming Dental Care

It’s understandable if you have concerns or questions about your future dental visit. Perhaps you aren’t sure if Goodman Dental is right for you. No matter what issues you’d like addressed, our team is happy to help. For convenience, we’ve also included a list of the most common questions we’ve heard over the years.

How often should I visit the dentist for a checkup?

We recommend coming into our office every six months for a routine dental checkup and cleaning. These visits play a crucial role in protecting your long-term oral health and ensuring dental issues are caught in the earliest stages where they are easiest to treat and manage. Keep in mind that if you have gum disease, you may need to visit more frequently (or once every three to four months).

Do I need a dental crown?

Dental crowns are necessary when damage to teeth has occurred, either through decay or from physical trauma. If you do need a dental crown, it’s likely because a cavity has become too large for a dental filling or because your tooth was fractured to a point where it’s at risk of developing an infection. In either case, Dr. Goodman can create dental crowns that look natural and remain durable.

Should I consider veneers for a better smile?

If you are struggling with smile imperfections that aren’t responding to other cosmetic treatments, veneers can be an ideal solution. However, they are also perfect for those who would prefer to reduce the number of treatments they need to achieve their dream smile. Dr. Goodman offers traditional veneers, so feel free to ask at your appointment.

What’s the best way to replace missing teeth?

While dental bridges and dentures have been reliable options for replacing teeth for quite some time, nothing really compares to the longevity and functionality of dental implants. Not only do they look incredibly natural, but they feel that way as well. If you’re looking for a long-term solution for tooth loss that’s proven to last several decades without issue, it’s hard to recommend anything other than dental implants.

I’m scared of visiting the dentist. Can you help?

Absolutely! Dr. Goodman can help address dental anxiety and phobia. Not only does he take the time to carefully explain treatments to patients and make sure they are feeling comfortable ahead of time, but he also offers nitrous oxide, oral conscious, and IV sedation all in-house.

Can you help me enhance my smile?

If you aren’t sure which treatments to consider, we may suggest a smile makeover to help you get started. Dr. Goodman is experienced in performing cosmetic dentistry treatments, including placement of veneers, teeth whitening, gum recontouring, and much more. Chances are that if there’s a concern you have about your smile’s appearance, our dental team can help you address it.
